ORDER This Writ Petition is filed directing the second respondent to consider the fresh service connection application made on 08.02.2025.

When the matter came up for admission, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent Authorities would submit that there is a dispute with reference to the said property and one Vimala had filed a Civil Suit in O.S.No.8697 of 2019 on the file of the XXIV Assistant City Civil Court, Chennai. As a matter of fact, there is an order of status-quo and when 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
W.P.No.10569 of 2025 there is an interim order of the Civil Court connection could not be effected.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the order of the status-quo is only for the construction and cannot be extended to grant of electricity connection. When the petitioner is making a construction in the disputed site and when the Civil Court has stopped even the construction by granting an order of status-quo, the petitioner cannot plead that the said order of the status-quo will not further affect the grant of electricity connection. Therefore, except to request the learned XXVI Assistant City Civil Court, Chennai, to dispose of the OS.No.8697 of 2019 as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than four months from the date of receipt of the copy of this order, no further relief can be granted the present Writ Petition.
