By way of this petition, the petitioner has, inter alia, prayed for the following reliefs:- “i) That a writ in the nature of Mandamus may kindly be issued directing the Respondent No. 1, to consider and decide the pending representations of the Petitioner (Annexure P-7 Colly & P-7/T Colly) in accordance with law, specifically in light of the Government's earlier decision dated 29.01.2016 (Annexure P-6) whereby withdrawal of the criminal case arising out of FIR No. 212/2015 dated 04.11.2015 was approved, within a time-bound period as may be deemed appropriate by this 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 2025:HHC:44497 Hon'ble Court; ii) That the cost of the Writ Petition may be granted in favour of the Petitioners and against the Respondents.” 3. In light of the issues raised in this petition, this Court is of the considered view that interest of justice would be served in case this petition is disposed of by directing the Authorities concerned to decide the pending representations of the petitioner which are appended therewith. Learned Additional Advocate General undertakes that the representations shall be decided in accordance with law after affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioner within eight weeks from today. His statement is taken on record. 4. The petition stands disposed of with the direction that let appropriate orders be passed on the representations of the petitioner after hearing him within a period of eight weeks from today. The Court places on record its appreciation for the assistance rendered by the learned Legal Aid Counsel and directs that full fees as is payable to the learned Legal Aid Counsel for conducting the case be paid to him.
