Petitioner has been made accused in connection with Masalia P.S. Case No. 27 of 2025 corresponding to G.R. No. 386 of 2025 for the offences registered under Sections 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 340(2) of the B.N.S., 2023 and Sections 66(C) and 66(D) of the Information Technology Act, pending in the Court of learned Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Dumka.

On 09.05.2025, Masalia Police, on the basis of confidential information apprehended this petitioner on suspicion that he was involved in cybercrime. On search, several mobile phones and SIM cards were recovered from his possession.

During the course of investigation, several victims have come forward to say that the mobile phones, which were so recovered from possession of the petitioner, were used in cheating them.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has submitted that SIM cards, which were used in the mobile phones so recovered from possession of the petitioner, does not belong to him.

Considering the nature of allegation, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail is rejected.
