1. The petitioner has filed this petition seeking the following reliefs: SMT NIRMALA RAO

“10.1 That, this Hon'ble court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent no.2 to consider the case of the petitioner for grant of promotion to the post of Joint Director.”

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that at the relevant time, the petitioner was working as a Senior Scientific Officer. He would submit that the petitioner is entitled for promotion to the next higher post i.e. Joint Director, but his name has not been considered, and no Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) has been constituted. He would submit that according to Chhattisgarh Public Services (Promotion) Rules, 2003, the department is under an obligation to conduct DPC every year. He would contend that various representations have been submitted by the petitioner, but the same have not been considered.
3. On the other hand, learned counsel for the State would oppose the
submissions made by counsel for the petitioner.
4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents present on record.
5. Considering the submissions made by counsel for the petitioner, respondent No.2 is directed to decide the pending representations of the petitioner expeditiously, preferably, within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the aforesaid observation(s), the present petition is disposed of. Sd/-
