Categories, and the petitioner in W.P.No.31377 of 2024, who belong to Open Category (O.C./General Category), did not qualify the prescribed eligibility criteria which prescribed minimum of 40% and 50% respectively to be acquired for the purposes of consideration in the P.G. Courses in the in-service category. 2 2. By virtue of our order dated 31.12.2024 in W.P.No.30971 of 2024, we had observed, based upon the statement by the learned Deputy Solicitor General - Mr. Pasala Ponna Rao, that the Government of India was contemplating reduction in the qualifying percentage below 40%, which would redress the grievance of the petitioners. We, accordingly, had directed the matters to be posted on 06.01.2025 and are being taken up today. 3. Learned Deputy Solicitor General has brought to our notice the communication from the Medical Counselling Committee to the Government of India dated 04.01.2025 whereby, the qualifying percentile prescribed for SC/ST/OBC/PwD Categories has reduced from 40% to 10% and for General/EWS Categories from 50% to 15% making the petitioners eligible. 4. Learned counsel for the respondent University states that the petitioners would be considered in accordance with the revised percentages prescribed by the qualified criteria. 5. The petitioners be accordingly considered if they are otherwise eligible. 6. Accordingly, both the Writ Petitions are disposed of. No order as to costs.
