The prayer in this petition is for issuance of a mandamus to consider the representation dated 08.11.2024. It was pointed out in the death certificate that only the petitioner's father's name was shown as Giriyappa and the column relating to his father, i.e., the grandfather of the petitioner was not shown. Since no reply was forthcoming, the present writ petition has been filed. 3. The petitioner in order to establish that his grandfather's name was Thimmaiah has produced the electoral ID card of his father, which indicates that his grandfather's name is indeed Thimmaiah. 4. In my view, in the light of the electoral ID card issued to the deceased Giriyappa, it would be necessary to direct the third respondent to incorporate the name of Thimmaiah as the father of Giriyappa in the death certificate. - 4 - NC: 2025:KHC:2078 WP No. 34575 of 2024 5. This exercise shall be undertaken and completed within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. 6. This petition is accordingly disposed of.
