Petitioner has been made an accused in connection with Adityapur P.S Case No. 285 of 2024, Corresponding to N.D.P.S. Case No. 23 of 2024, for the offence under sections 17/21(b) of N.D.P.S. Act, pending in the Court of learned Principal District & Sessions Judge, Seraikella. On 02.08.2024, the petitioner alongwith co-accused Gautam Ranjan Seth was apprehended by Adityapur police from Adityapur Imli Chowk and on search 5.55 grams of brown sugar was recovered from their joint possession. It was submitted that the quantum of seized contraband comes within the purview of intermediary quantity and the petitioner has got no criminal antecedent. It was further submitted that similarly situated co- accused has been granted bail by co-ordinate bench of this Court.
