THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE K SREENIVASA REDDY CRIMINAL PETITION No.9553 OF 2024 ORDER: This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, has been filed by the petitioners/A1, A4 and A6, seeking bail, in Crime No.17/2024 of Sileru Police Station, Alluri Sitharamaraju District. 2. A case has been registered against the petitioners and others for the offences under Sections 111(2)(b) B.N.S and Sections 20(b)(ii)(C), 25 r/w 8(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. 3. Case of the prosecution is that on 03.10.2024 at about 5.00 p.m., on receipt of credible information regarding illegal possession and transportation of ganja, S.I of Police, along with staff, rushed to Guntawada Dam, Sileru village and started vehicle checking. At that time, they found one Auto bearing registration no.AP 31 TG 7482 coming from Odisha State and proceeding towards Sileru Village. On seeing police, the driver turned back the auto and three persons escaped from the auto. Police apprehended the petitioners who are A2, A4 and A6. On interrogation, they disclosed their identity particulars and police found 223.100 kgs of ganja in their possession. Police seized the ganja and the vehicle and arrested the accused on 03.10.2024. 4. Heard. Perused the record. 2 5. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor submits that investigation is at nascent stage and some more witnesses are to be examined. 6. A perusal of the material available on record goes to show that huge quantity of ganja i.e. 223.100 kgs was seized and police arrested the petitioners on 03.10.2024. As stated by the learned Assistant Public Prosecutor, the investigation is at nascent stage and some more witnesses are to be examined. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners, at this stage. 7. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. _______________________ K.
