PUBLIC PROSECUTOR The Court made the following Order: This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of BNSS, has been filed by the petitioner/A3, seeking anticipatory bail, in Crime No.128 of 2024 of Salur Rural Police Station, Parvathipuram Manyam District. 2. A case has been registered against the petitioner herein and others for the offence punishable under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) read with 8(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (for short ‘the NDPS Act’). 3. Case of the prosecution is that, on 24.09.2024, on receipt of credible information about the illegal transportation of ganja, the SI of Police along with his staff and mediators rushed to ourskirts of Jeegiram Village of Salur Mandal, and started conducting vehicle 2 checking and found two persons stopped their vehicles and tried to escape from the spot. The SI of Police with the assistance of his staff apprehended them and found 25Kgs of Ganja in their possession. The contraband along with other material was seized under the cover of mediator report. 4. Heard. Perused the record. 5. The quantity of contraband involved in the present crime is 25 Kgs of Ganja, which is a commercial quantity. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor submits that the case is still under investigation and some more witnesses are to be examined. In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, petitioner does not deserve for grant of anticipatory bail. 6. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. As a sequel thereto, the miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition, shall stand closed. _____________________ K.
