1. Through the instant petition filed under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (For short “BNSS”), the petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in case FIR No.08 dated 16.01.2025 under Sections 115(2), 118, 351(2), 191(3) and 190 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (For short “BNS”) (Sections 117(2) and 118(2) of BNS added later on), registered at Police Station Koom Kalan, District Police Commissionerate Ludhiana.
2. Status report filed by learned State counsel is taken on record.
3. Vide order dated 20.03.2025, passed by this Court, the petitioner was released on interim bail and was directed to join investigation.
4. Learned State counsel, on instructions from HC Harsimranjeet Singh, has submitted that the petitioner has joined investigation on 07.04.2025 and he is not required for custodial interrogation.
5. Keeping in view the above facts and circumstances, without commenting on the merits of the case, the present petition is allowed and the
order dated 20.03.2025, granting interim bail to the petitioner, is made absolute, subject to the conditions laid down in Section 482(2) of the BNSS.
