GP FOR HOME The Court made the following Order: Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home appearing for the respondents 1 to 3. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has submitted representation dated 25.10.2024 seeking police protection for performing the pastorial duties/prayers at Heyer Memorial Lutheran Church of AELC, B.H.P.V, Sheela Nagar, Visakhapatnam, on every Sunday. It is submitted that at behest of respondents 4 and 5, the 3rd respondent is not 2 extending the requisite police protection for performing the prayers. It is submitted that the petitioner is working as a pastor in Heyer Memorial Lutheran Church and that he has to essentially perform prayer at every Sunday. 3. The learned Assistant Government Pleader, on instructions, submits that, the police have taken cognizance of the complaint filed by the petitioner and have also realized that the same is a non-cognizable offence, and as such filed a memo before the III Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gajuwaka, seeking permission to register a case and they are awaiting permission from the competent Court. 4. Recording the submissions, it is made clear that the 3rd respondent shall take appropriate steps soon after receipt of the permission from the competent Court to register a case. 5.
