Heard counsel for the petitioners and the learned Standing Counsel. 2. Challenge in the writ petition is to an order dated 2.9.2024 passed by the Commissioner, Meerut Division, Meerut, whereby the appeal filed by the petitioners was dismissed. The appeal itself was directed against an order dated 23.2.2023 passed by the Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue), the third respondent. 3. In our considered opinion, against the impugned order the petitioners have a statutory alternative remedy of filing a revision before the State Government, which statutory alternative remedy has not been availed. 4. This petition, under the circumstances, is dismissed leaving it open for the petitioners to file a revision before the State Government positively within a period of ten days from today alongwith an application for stay. In case the revision alongwith the stay application is filed within the time granted above, it is expected that an appropriate order shall be passed by the competent authority on the stay application within a period of three weeks thereafter.
