2. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Tatanagar Rail P.S. Case No. 93 of 2024 corresponding to N.D.P.S. Case No. 72 of 2024, for the offences registered under Sections 20(b)(ii) (C), 29 of the N.D.P.S. Act, pending in the Court of learned Special Judge N.D.P.S., Jamshedpur.
3. Bail Application of the petitioner was earlier dismissed as withdrawn by this Court vide B.A. No. 9925 of 2024 by order dated 02.12.2024.
4. On 05.09.2024 at about 01:10 P.M., petitioner alongwith co-accused persons were apprehended from Platform No.-03 at Tatanagar Railway Station. On search, 20.700 kgs of cannabis were recovered from their joint possession.
5. Report regarding the stage of the trial earlier called for, has been received. It appears that charge has been framed in this case on 10.01.2025 and out of twelve charge sheeted witnesses, seven witnesses have already been examined. The learned Trial Court has reported that the trial was likely to be concluded by March, 2026.
6. Considering the nature of allegation and the fact that the trial is under progress, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, her prayer for bail stands rejected.
7. The learned Trial Court shall expedite the trial and conclude the same expeditiously within six months.
