The present petition has been filed under Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing respondent No.1 to protect the life and liberty of petitioner and his family members at the hands of respondents No.2 to 4. 2. Learned State counsel has referred para nos. 1 report dated 30.04.2025 Nawanshahar, District SBS Nagar, Punjab in compliance of the order this Court on 24.03.2025 “7. throughly inquired the matter and recorded statement of the witnesses and also examine the record and after thorough inquiry, the Inquiry Officer vide its report dated 20.03.2025, concluded that petitioner habitual offender and is involved in drug ped as many as 18 criminal cases have been registered against him in different police stations of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh and majority of which are under NDPS Act, 1985 SBS Nagar, vide its report further revealed that the family member of the petitioner and his sister further FIR No.44 dated 21.06.2024, under Section 22 of the NDPS Act, 1985 was lodged against the sons namely Vijay Kumar and Sunny Kumar, IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH Versus and others HON'BLE MR. It is further submitted that the inquiry report of the Superintendent of Police (Investigation), SBS Nagar, has been considered by the answering deponent and after consi ordered to be filed by the answering deponent vide its order dated 25.03.2025. That is respectfully submitted that from the inquiry carried out by the Superintendent of Police(Investigation), SBS Nagar, it has been established that there is no apprehension to th petitioner-Devraj or any of his family members, however, petitioner is free to approach any of the police official of District SBS Nagar, in the event of any apprehension to his life and liberty In view of the above, no further order is required to be passed in the present petition and same is disposed of accordingly.
