2. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Ichak P.S. Case No. 89 of 2024 corresponding to G.R. Case No. 1782 of 2024, for the offences registered under Sections 302, 201, 120B, 34 of the I.P.C., pending in the Court of Ms. Priyanka Chopra, learned J.M.F.C., Hazaribagh.
3. The deceased Rahul Mehta and Puja Yadav were in live-in- relationship. The relationship was opposed by Rahul’s family. Father of Puja Yadav fixed her marriage which was to be solemnized on 11.07.2024. The family members of Rahul Mehta were against the alliance. Both Rahul Mehta and Puja Yadav went missing. On suspicion, this case was instituted that they might have been murdered.
4. Father and brother of Rahul Mehta were apprehended and, on their confession, it transpires that after getting both of them murdered by hired assassins, their dead bodies were cremated. The petitioner is brother of Rahul Mehta. On the basis of his confession, the main assailants were apprehended and, on their confession, bloodstained knife and other incriminating articles were recovered.
5. Considering the nature of allegation, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail stands rejected.
6. The learned Trial Court shall expedite the trial.
