Heard Mr Laban Carvalho, the learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr Neehal Vernekar, the learned Additional Government Advocate for respondent nos.1,2,4 and 5 and Mr G. Panandikar, the learned counsel for respondent no.3. 2. The petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to pay interest on the delayed payment of his GPF amount for the period from 01.03.2024 until the actual date of receipt, i.e., 22.07.2024. According to the petitioner, the total outstanding amount is Rs.1,70,004/-. 8th July, 2025 WP 29 of 2025 3. Mr. Vernekar, the learned Additional Government Advocate appearing for respondent No. 2, has tendered an affidavit, which is taken on record. He submits that the respondents are willing to release the outstanding amount and further states that respondent No. 2 shall initiate an inquiry to determine the cause of delay by calling upon both the Management and the Disbursing Accounts Officer to ascertain as to who is responsible for the said delay. 4. In view of the above, it is directed that the outstanding amount due to the petitioner shall be paid within a period of four weeks from today. The inquiry, as proposed, shall be conducted expeditiously, in accordance with law. 5. With these directions, nothing further survives in the petition. The petition stands disposed of. NIVEDITA P.
