Mark Khapai, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Niranjan Sanasam, learned Government Advocate for the State respondent through video conferencing. [2] The effort of mediation is unsuccessful. [3] By the present petition, the petitioner approached this Court for directions to the respondents for making payment of compensation of Zimik Resort Kachi which was destroyed in the Manipur violence from 12th to 14th of June, 2023 and also to dispose of the representation dated 07-05-2025 submitted by the petitioner to the Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi. The prayer is reproduced below:— “In the premises aforesaid, it is therefore, most respectfully prayed that Your Lordship may graciously be pleased to --- i) direct the respondents for making payment of the assessed values of properties of the Zimik Resort Kachi which has been burnt and dismantled during the incident of Meiteis and Kukis ethnic clash on 12-14.06.2023. ANNEXURE-A/10. iii) pass any such further order or direction as to your Lordship may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case; iv) pay the cost.” [4] At this stage, Mr. T. Mark Khapai, learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that the writ petition may be disposed of by directing the Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi to consider the representation dated 07- 05-2025 and pass a speaking order as per law within a stipulated time. [5] Mr. Niranjan Sanasam, learned Government Advocate for the State respondents, submits that the writ petition may be disposed of as suggested by the learned counsel for the petitioner. [6] Recording the submissions made at the Bar, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi to dispose of the representation dated 07-05-2025 submitted by the petitioner by a speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. [7] It is clarified that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merit of the case. [8] Interim order, if any, merges with the final order. JUDGE Victoria
