1. Present criminal writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of direction to respondents No.2 & 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members from the hands of private respondents and also to decide the representation dated 03.03.2025 (Annexure P-2) submitted by the petitioner to respondent No.2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, inter alia, contends that on 09.02.2025 at about 08.00 p.m., mother of the petitioner was going to cattle house and respondent No.8 Ravi Singh, who is residing at his nanke and is not having good character, was intoxicated and he started dragging her towards his VISHNU 2025.04.25 16:07 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh
CRWP-2631-2025 -2- house and the petitioner removed him. On asking by the petitioner about the same, respondent No.8 Ravi Singh abused him. Thereafter, family members of respondent No.8 gathered there. Respondent No.8 Ravi Singh and respondent No.9 Karandeep Singh were armed with iron rods and respondent No.7 Sukhchain and respondent No.6 Dakhan Singh were holding wooden sticks in their hands. After raising lalkara by respondent No.4 Darbara Singh and respondent No.5 Makhan Singh that ‘catch and thrown him’, respondent No.8 Ravi Singh and respondent No.9 Karandeep Singh, with an intention to kill the petitioner, gave iron rod blows to him on his head. When mother of the petitioner raised noise to save her son, then respondent No.6 Dakhan Singh and respondent No.7 Sukhchain Singh gave wooden stick blows to her hand. On hearing the noise, some people reached there and rescued the petitioner and got him admitted to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala for treatment. Due to the injuries suffered by the petitioner on his head, 17 stitches were put, as discernible from photograph (Annexure P-1). It is further contended that the jurisdictional police authorities were informed by the officials of Rajindra Hospital, Patiala on the same day, however, the police officials from Police Station Bakhshiwala, Patiala went to house of the petitioner on next day and recorded the statements of the petitioner and his mother. Thereafter, the petitioner approached the police officials to take appropriate action against the accused several times, but till date, no action has been taken. CRWP-2631-2025 -3- respondent No.2 by submitting the representation dated 03.03.2025 (Annexure P-2), however, the same has not been decided so far.

Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner would be satisfied, in case a direction is issued to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the representation dated 03.03.2025 (Annexure P-2) submitted by him in a time bound manner.
4. Notice of motion to the official respondents only.
5. On asking of the Court, Mr. Subhash Godara, Addl. A.G., Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3-State. Learned counsel for the petitioner is directed to supply copy of complete paperbook to learned State counsel during course of the day.

Keeping in view the prayer made by the petitioner and without commenting anything on the merits of the case, present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the representation dated 03.03.2025 (Annexure P-2) submitted by the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, in accordance with law.
