Choudhury, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Shri R.M. Das, learned Standing Counsel, Water Resource Department, Shri S. Dutta, learned Standing Counsel, Revenue Department and Ms. U. Das, learned State Counsel. The matter pertains to a claim for disbursing contractual dues. Ms. Choudhury, the learned counsel for the petitioner has drawn the attention of this Court to the affidavit-in-opposition filed by the respondent no. 4 on 11.02.2026 in which the liability has been acknowledged. Shri Dutta, the learned Standing Counsel, Revenue Department has also placed before this Court written instructions dated 12.06.2026 as per which an amount of Rs.17,72,045/- (Rupees Seventeen Lakhs Seventy Two Thousand Forty Five only) has been approved and been allotted to the District Page No.# 3/3 Commissioner, Nagaon and the process of Financial Sanction has been initiated after which Ceiling Proposal would be submitted to the Finance Department for approval and final disbursement. In view of the aforesaid development, this Court is of the opinion that there may not be any live cause of action to be adjudicated. Accordingly, while this writ petition is closed, the process of disbursement which has been undertaken is directed to be completed expeditiously and preferably within a period of 3 (three) months from today.
