ORAL ORDER
In this petition, the petitioner seeks the following relief:
"Quash the FIR in Crime No.187/2023 registered by the Kolar Town Police Station, Kolar District, pending consideration on the file of the Principal Civil Judge (Sr. Dn.) and CJM. Court, Kolar, Kolar District for the offences punishable under Sections 504 and 506 of Indian Penal Code, in the interest of justice and equity."
2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned High Court Government Pleader for the respondent and perused the material on record. 3. A perusal of the material on record will indicate that the respondent-Police have registered the instant F.I.R. in Crime No.187/2023 against the petitioner inter alia alleging that the petitioner is guilty for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code by contending that the messages posted by the petitioner on her Facebook Account indicate commission of aforesaid offences. In this context, it is relevant to state that the posting of alleged messages by the petitioner would clearly not amount to criminal intimidation within the meaning of Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code and consequently, the impugned F.I.R. insofar as it relates to the alleged offences

punishable under Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code deserves to be quashed. 4. Insofar as the offence alleged to have been committed under Section 504 of the Indian Penal Code, in the light of the specific statement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner on instructions that the petitioner would not henceforth post any massages in contravention of Section 504 of the Indian Penal Code or against the Police Authorities, I am of the considered opinion that the impugned F.I.R. in relation to the offence punishable under Section 504 of the Indian Penal Code also deserves to be quashed in order to secure the ends of justice. In the result, I pass the following:
O R D E R
1) The Criminal Petition is allowed; and 2) The impugned F.I.R. in Crime No.187/2023 registered by Kolar Town Police Station, Kolar against the petitioner for the offences punishable under Sections 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code is hereby quashed.
