Neutral Citation No. (2025:JHHC:30964) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No. 5662 of 2025 Sunita Devi @ Sunita Oraon, aged about 34 years, W/o Sunil Oraon @ Chhotu Oraon, r/o village- Dhodhra Tangra Toli, P.S.+ P.O.- Gumla, District-Gumla, Jharkhand … Petitioner - Versus - The State of Jharkhand … Opp. Party ------ CORAM: - HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE AMBUJ NATH ----- For the Petitioner : Ms. Khalida Haya Rashmi, Advocate For the State : Mr. Ajay Kumar Pathak, A.P.P. --- 03/07.10.2025 Heard the parties. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with S.T. Case No.237 of 2022, arising out of Gumla P.S. Case No. 322 of 2021, for the offences registered under Section 302 of the I.P.C., pending in the court of learned Additional Sessions Judge-I-cum-Special Judge, Gumla. Bail application of the petitioner was earlier rejected by a Co- ordinate Bench of this Court vide B.A. No.9561 of 2022 by order dated 01.11.2022. On 19.11.2021, Aunt of the informant was found murdered in her house. Her wrist was severed. During the course of investigation, petitioner was arrested and, on his confession, the blade which was used in committing the offence was recovered. It was submitted that petitioner is in custody since 22.11.2021. It was further submitted that the petitioner is a lady and she is in custody with her child. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail and submitted that out 8 charge sheeted witnesses, 6 witnesses have already been examined. Considering the nature of allegation and the fact that the trial is at the fag end of its conclusion, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, her prayer for bail stands rejected. The learned trial court shall expedite the trial. (Ambuj Nath, J.) Jay/-
