In the matter of: Rintu Halder ….Petitioner. Mr. Asraf Mandal
…for the petitioner
Ms. Zareen Nasima Khan Mr. Tirthankar Dhali
….for the State
Mr. Parvej Alam Mr. Md. Nadeem
….for the de-facto complainant
Heard the learned counsels for the petitioner, the de-facto complainant and the State.
The prosecution case is that the victim was abducted for ransom by the present petitioner from in front of witnesses. Somehow, the victim could extricate himself from the clutches of the miscreants and thereafter, came home.
Considering the incriminating materials available in the case diary including the statements of the alleged victim and the statements of other witnesses, I do not consider this to be a fit case for granting anticipatory bail.
Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail is rejected.
