The petitioner has filed the present writ petition claiming the following reliefs:- “10.1 That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to issue an appropriate writ/ order, thereby directing VEDPRAKASH DEWANGAN Digitally signed by VEDPRAKASH DEWANGAN Date: 2025.08.08 14:47:32 +0530 2 the respondent authorities to consider and decide the application filed by the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment as per policy dated 14.06.2013 issued by the State Government, within stipulated time. 10.2 That, any other relief/order which may deem fit and just in the facts and circumstances of the case including award of the costs of the petition may be given.” 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the husband of the petitioner, late Nandkumar Sahu, who was working as a peon at the respondents department, died in harness on 13.04.2025. She filed an application for grant of compassionate appointment on 02.07.2025, but till date, her application has not been considered. Therefore, the authorities may be directed to consider the application of the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment and to decide the same within the stipulated time frame. 3. On the other hand, learned counsel for the State would submit that he has no objection, if such a direction being made to the authorities concerned to decide the representation of the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment within the stipulated time frame in accordance with law. 4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material annexed with the petition. 5. Considering the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties, the present writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent No.3 to take a decision on the representation/application dated 02.07.2025 of 3 the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment on account of death of her husband late Nandkumar Sahu within 08 weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order, in accordance with law and applicable rules and circulars of the department. 6. The petitioner is directed to produce a copy of this order within 02 weeks from today to the respondent No.3. 7. With the aforesaid observations, the present writ petition is disposed of.
