Petitioners, through the medium of this petition, claiming to be former employees of the J&K Handloom Development Corporation, have approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to calculate and release the arrears arising out of the implementation of the 6th Pay Commission with effect from 01.01.2006, along with interest @ 12% per annum from the date the arrears became due till the date of actual payment, in a time bound manner. 02. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioners, have not been paid the arrears of the 6th Pay Commission which were due to them from 01.01.2006, and that the respondents have illegally withheld the amount payable to the petitioners. 03. He further submits that petitioners shall be satisfied in case this petition is disposed of, at this stage, with a direction to the respondents to consider their case in view of the order/judgment dated 13.03.2024 passed in WP(C) No. 1248/2022 titled “Vinod Koul & Ors. Vs. UT of J&K & Ors.” passed by this Court, whereby respondents were directed to release the arrears of pay claimed by the petitioners therein in accordance with law and applicable rules. 26 2 WP(C) No. 1390/2025 04. In view of the pleadings and submissions made at the Bar, this petition is disposed of at this stage with a direction to the respondents to consider the case of the petitioners in the light of the aforesaid judgment, provided the same is applicable to them. Petitioners are directed to furnish paper book of their case along with a copy of this order to the respondents, for their consideration and disposal. The respondents shall pass a speaking order within a period of eight weeks from the date a copy of this order is made available to them. 05. The petition is thus disposed of.
