1. None appears on behalf of learned counsel for the applicant to press this bail application. The applicant is in jail since 21.03.2025, hence this Court proceeds to consider of this bail application with the assistance of learned State counsel. 2. The applicant has preferred this First Bail Application under Section 483 of Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 for grant of regular bail, as he has been arrested in connection with Crime No.101/2025, registered at Police Station- Kotwali, Jagdalpur, District Bastar (C.G.) for the offence punishable under Sections 20 (B) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic PREETI KUMARI Digitally signed by PREETI KUMARI Date: 2025.08.08 14:53:34 +0530
2 Substances Act. (for short ‘NDPS’). 3. The prosecution story in brief, is that, the concerned Police has received a secret information and on the basis of said information, raid was conducted and recovered total 30.821 Kgs contraband Ganja from the possession of the present applicant and other co-accused persons. 4. The learned counsel for the State opposes the bail application and submits that the charge-sheet has been filed. She further submits that total quantity of 30.821 Kgs contraband Ganja has been seized from the possession of the applicant and other co-accused persons, which is much more than the commercial quantity. Hence, his bail application is liable to be dismissed. 5. I have heard learned counsel for the State and perused the material available on record. 6. Taking into consideration the fact that quantity of contraband article i.e. 30.821 Kgs Ganja, which is much more than the commercial quantity, accordingly, the bail application of applicant – Sukhranjan Ray involved in Crime No.101/2025, registered at Police Station- Kotwali, Jagdalpur, District Bastar (C.G.) for the offence punishable under Sections 20 (B) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. (for short ‘NDPS’), is rejected at this stage. 7. Needless to say that the trial Court concerned is at liberty to proceed and conclude the trial expeditiously. 8.
