PUBLIC PROSECUTOR (AP) The Court made the following: COMMON ORDER: The instant petition under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 (for short ‘Cr.P.C’) has been filed by the Petitioners / Accused Nos.2 and 3, seeking quashment of the proceedings against them in C.C.No.127 of 2023 2 on the file of the Court of Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate, Chodavaram for the offences under Sections 498-A IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. 2. I.A.Nos.1 and 2 of 2025 are filed by Respondent No.2/De facto complainant seeking permission to compound the offences and compromise the matter with the Petitioners. 3. Petitioners / Accused Nos.2 and 3 and Respondent No.2 appeared before this Court and were identified by their respective learned counsel. Copies of their Aadhar cards attested by their respective counsel are filed for proper identification. 4. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor is in attendance. 5. Both parties would submit that they came to an amicable settlement and filed a joint memo to that effect for withdrawal of the present case pending between them. Respondent No.2/De facto complainant would submit that, as per the terms of the compromise, she has received Demand Draft for an amount of Rs.12,50,000/- and the remaining amount of Rs.12,50,000/- will be paid by at the time of obtaining mutual divorce. She would further submit that, at the intervention of elders and well-wishers on both sides, the matter has been settled between them and she intends to withdraw the case against the Petitioners. 6. The present case has been lodged based on the matrimonial disputes between the parties and Respondent No.2 filed her affidavit wherein it was 3 stated that she is intending to withdraw the case against the Petitioners in view of the terms agreed upon. 7. Considering the submissions, in terms of the compromise arrived at between the parties, and in the interest of justice, I.A.Nos.1 and 2 of 2025 are allowed. Consequently, the Criminal Petition is allowed and the case against the Petitioners / Accused Nos.2 and 3 in C.C.No.127 of 2023 on the file of the Court of Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate, Chodavaram, is hereby quashed.
