The petitioner claims that that the Special Deputy Collector and the Executive Engineer after their joint inspection conducted on the spot, had recorded their satisfaction about the genuineness and existence of the structures which were required to be acquired and compensation paid was politically motivated. 2 HCJ & RC, J W.P(PIL). Having considered the material on record, we are of the opinion that the present petition has been filed more to settle personal scores rather than to serve the general public interest. Considering the ratio of the judgments rendered by the Apex Court in Janata Dal v. H.S. Chowdhary1, Dattaraj Nathuji Thaware v. State Of Maharashtra2 and Holicow Pictures Pvt. Ltd. vs. Prem Chandra Mishra & Others3, we find that the present petition has not been filed in general public interest but only for oblique purposes. The writ petition (PIL) is, accordingly, dismissed. No costs. Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed.
