This Court, vide order dated 10.09.2024, passed in MCRC No. 6322 of 2024, while allowing the bail to the applicant, namely, Gagan Anand Mehr, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order, if there was no legal impediment. 3. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Durg, District-Durg (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 23.06.2025 has requested for grant of three months time for concluding the trial. 5. It transpires from perusal of the PUD that at present, the evidence of 12 prosecution witnesses have been completed and the evidence of one remaining prosecution witness, the weighment officer Murli Dhar Sawani, is yet to be recorded. Considering that after the recording of the prosecution witness’s evidence, time will be required for recording the statement of the accused, hearing of final arguments, and pronouncement of judgment, it does not appear feasible to dispose of the case within the stipulated time therefore, she prays for grant of three months further time for concluding the same. 6. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of three months from today. 7. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 8. Registry is directed to send a certified copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/- (Ramesh Sinha) Chief Justice Kunal
