Page No. 2/2 This contempt petition was filed alleging violation of an Order dated 17.10.2025 passed in W.P.[C] no. 5978/2025. Notice was issued to the respondents on 10.12.2025. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the parties that by the Order dated 17.10.2025 passed in W.P.[C] no. 5978/2025, this Court directed the parties to maintain status quo over the land in question, as existing on 07.10.2025, till the returnable date. However, on 13.11.2025, the name of NF Railway, Guwahati was incorporated in the land records relating to the land in question, that is, a plot of land measuring 49.24 Are pursuant to directions given on 14.08.2025 and 27.08.2025 by the respondent no. 2. However, as per the latest Records of Right [Jamabandi] in respect of the plot of land in question, the name of NF Railway has been deleted in the records by an Order dated 13.02.2026 passed by the respondent no. 2. In view of the above developments, Mr. Singha has submitted that since the direction alleging violation of which the contempt petition was filed, has since been changed by correction of land records of the land in question, the contempt petition can be closed.
