1. This is an office reference.
2. This Court, vide order dated 20.12.2024, passed in MCRC Nos. 8265/2024, while allowing the bail to the petitioner, namely, Sonu Kumar Sahni, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order, if there was no legal impediment. 3. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Durg, District – Durg (C.G.), through the Principal District and Sessions Judge, District – Durg (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 23.06.2025 has requested for grant of 6 months’ time for concluding the trial.
4. It transpires from perusal of the PUD, that in this case, the accused is not appearing before the trial Court, regarding which arrest warrants have already been issued against the accused. Due to non-appearance of the accused before the learned trial Court, it is likely to take some time for concluding the trial. Therefore, he prays for grant of 6 months’ time for concluding the trial.
5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is
directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of six months from today.
6. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction.
7. Registry is directed to send a certified copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/-
