Rakesh Kainthla, Judge The present petition has been filed for quashing of F.I.R. No. 186 of 2023, dated 26.12.2023, registered for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 498A, 504 and 506 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Police Station Amb, District Una, H.P. and consequent proceedings arising out of the said F.I.R based on compromise effected between the parties. 2 2025:HHC:43718 2. It has been asserted that the parties have mutually divorced each other. The alimony of ₹15,00,000/- was granted to the wife and she agreed to withdraw all the petitions filed by her. Hence, the present petition. 3. Statement of informant Priya Rani, was recorded on 24.09.2025 in which she stated that the matter had been compromised between the parties voluntarily without any influence or coercion from any person and she had no objection, in case the FIR lodged against the petitioners/accused is ordered to be quashed. 4. The offences punishable under Sections 504 and 506 of IPC are compoundable under Section 320 of Cr.P.C. 5. The offence punishable Section 498-A of IPC can be quashed based on the compromise as per the judgments passed by this Court in Gian Singh versus State, 2012 (10) SCC 303, Narender versus State of Punjab, 2014 (16) SCC 466, Vikas Singh vs. State of H.P. (2023)I DMC 335 (HP) and Sanjay Kumar vs. State of H.P 2023 (1) Him L.R. 602. These judgments are binding on this Court. 6. Consequently, the present petition is allowed and FIR No. 186 of 2023, dated 26.12.2023, registered for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 498A, 504 and 506 of IPC at Police Station Amb, District Una, H.P. is quashed and the consequent 3 2025:HHC:43718 proceedings pending/initiated against the petitioners-accused in pursuance thereto are also quashed. 7. Petition stands disposed of in the above terms, so also pending miscellaneous applications, if any. 8. Parties are permitted to produce a copy of this judgment, downloaded from the webpage of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh before the authorities concerned, and the said authorities shall not insist on the production of a certified copy but if required, may verify passing of the order from Website of the High Court.
