Sri.C.Jagadish., counsel for respondents 1 to 3 has appeared in person. 2. The Notice dated 04.05.2017 issued by the first respondent vide Annexure-G is called into question in this Writ Petition on several grounds as setout in the Memorandum of Writ Petition. 3. Heard the arguments and perused the Writ papers with care. 4. Counsel Sri.C.Jagadish., submits that the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Civil Rights Enforcement Cell), Vijayapura has no jurisdiction to issue such a notice. Counsel therefore, submits that an appropriate order may be passed. - 3 - NC: 2025:KHC:2995 WP No. 22942 of 2017 5. Because the jurisdiction does not vests with the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Civil Rights Enforcement Cell), Vijayapura, the notice at Annexure-G is quashed. However, the District Caste Verification Committee is at a liberty to refer the matter to the second respondent. Be that as it may, it is clarified that any reference should be made strictly in accordance with the law, if permissible. All the contentions of the parties are kept open. 6.
