01. Appellant, through the medium of this appeal, has challenged the
judgment/order dated 07.02.2019 passed by the Jammu & Kashmir State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Jammu in Complaint No. 3560 titled – “Bharat Bhushan Vs. Vipan Sawhney” whereby a compensation to the tune of Rs. 3,00,000/- was awarded alongwith litigation charges of an amount of Rs. 20,000/- in favour of the complainant (respondent herein) and against the appellant herein and reserving the right of the accused to agitate the matter with regard to his claim to the amount of Rs. 6.15 lacs before a civil court.
02. On the previous date of hearing, the learned counsel for the parties jointly made a statement that they wished to explore an amicable

settlement between the parties who were stated to be close friends at an earlier point of time and sought an adjournment.
03. The parties are present in person alongwith their counsel today and they have made statements through their counsel that the parties have settled the issue amicably out of Court and agreed that the appellant shall pay an amount of Rs. 3,00,000/- as full and final settlement towards the claim of the respondent with no further claim and that the criminal case filed by the appellant against the respondent which is stated to be pending before the criminal court i.e. the Special Mobile Magistrate, Rajouri shall not be pursued wherein the parties will compound the case by entering into compromise reached between them. The statements of the learned counsel for the parties, are taken on record on behalf of the parties, in support of their contentions.
04. In view of the aforementioned amicable settlement arrived at between the parties, the present appeal is, accordingly, disposed of alongwith connected application(s), if any.
05. Since, the appellant has already deposited Rs. 3,20,000/- with the Registry of this Court, Registry is directed to release an amount of Rs. 3,00,000/- in favour of respondent herein and remaining Rs. 20,000/- alongwith interest is ordered to be refunded in favour of the appellant herein.
06. The appeal is, accordingly, disposed of.
