Neutral Citation No. (2025:JHHC:36538) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No. 10416 of 2025 Raj Kumar Ram @ Chhotu @ Chotu, aged about 29 years, S/o Krishna Ram Ravi Das, Resident of village- Ravidas Mandir, Mochaisai, P.O- Chaibasa, P.S. Muffasil, District West Singhbhum, Jharkhand … Petitioner - Versus - The State of Jharkhand … Opp. Party ------ CORAM: - HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE AMBUJ NATH ----- For the Petitioner : Mr. Bhaskar Trivedi, Advocate For the State : Mr. Bishambhar Shastri, A.P.P. --- 03/05.12.2025 Heard the parties. Petitioner has been made accused in connection with S.T. Case No. 427 of 2023 arising out of Chaibasa Muffasil P.S. Case No. 72 of 2023 for the offences registered under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and charge has been famed under Sections 302 and 201 of the I.P.C., pending in the court of learned Sessions Judge, West Singhbhum at Chaibasa. Bail application of the petitioner was earlier twice rejected by this Court. On 04.05.2023, dead body of the brother of the Informant namely Shivcharan Keshri was recovered from Roro River. F.I.R. was registered against unknown person. During the course of investigation, murder weapon was recovered on the pointing out of this petitioner. Report regarding the stage of trial earlier called for, has been received. It appears that out of 12 chargesheeted witnesses, 3 witnesses have been examined. The learned trial court has reported that trial will be concluded within one year. Considering the nature of allegation and fact that the trial is under progress, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail stands rejected. Learned trial court shall expedite the trial and preferably conclude the same within one year from the next date fixed for recording of evidence. (Ambuj Nath, J.) December 5, 2025 Jay/-
