CORAM : THE CHIEF JUSTICE DHIRAJ SINGH THAKUR SRI JUSTICE RAVI CHEEMALAPATI DATE : 19th September 2025
P C :
The present writ appeal has been preferred against the order, dated 22.08.2025 in WP.No.22488 of 2025 whereby the learned single Judge has ordered maintenance of status quo as on the date of passing of the order.
2 HCJ & RC, J WA_1020_2025
2. The order of status quo, in our opinion, was an order which was passed by the learned single Judge considering the divergent pleas of the parties as regards the factum of possession of the petitioners over the property in question. Whereas the petitioners claim to be still in possession of the property, the official respondents claim was that they had since been evicted. It was in those circumstances that the Court proceeded to pass the
order of status quo.
3. We do not find any merit in the present Writ Appeal, which is accordingly dismissed with liberty to the appellants to agitate the matter before the learned single Judge.
As per the orders impugned, W.P.No.22488 of 2025 was supposed to be listed after four weeks, which expire on 22.09.2025. Registry is accordingly directed to list WP.No.22488 of 2025 before the appropriate Bench having the Roster, on 22.09.2025.
No order as to costs.
Miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall stand closed.
