ORAL ORDER
The petitioner is before this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the representation dated 20.08.2024 to renew/reissue the passport of the petitioner.
2. Heard Sri.Rajagopala Naidu learned counsel for the petitioner and Smt.Reshma K.T learned CGC for the respondent.
3. The petitioner is a holder of an Indian Passport granted on 16.09.2013, which was said to expire on
15.09.2023. The petitioner then submits an online application seeking re-issuance of the Passport, which comes to be turned down by this Court that the petitioner had suppressed the pendency of the criminal case against him. The petitioner then

divulges the same and submits a representation seeking
consideration.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent, Ms.Reshma K.T., would refute the submission in contending that the complaint against the petitioner is not at the stage of FIR. Charge sheet has been filed and the bar under Section 6(2)(f) of the Passports Act, 1967, would kick in.
4. In that light, she would submit that all that the petitioner can be given now is a Short Validity Passport and not a Regular Passport as can be granted to a normal person.
5. In that light, the respondent shall consider a representation of the petitioner and pass necessary orders in accordance with law, bearing in mind the law laid down by this Court in plethora of cases on identical circumstances and the statute itself. The representation shall merit consideration within eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the
order, if not earlier.

With the aforesaid observations, the petition stands
disposed.
