ANJARIA and HON'BLE MR JUSTICE K. V. ARAVIND ORAL JUDGMENT (PER: HON'BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE MR. JUSTICE N. V. ANJARIA) Learned Additional Government Advocate Smt. Pramodhini Kishan invited attention of the court to the directions in paragraph 7 of the order of learned Single Judge brought under the contempt jurisdiction which requires the respondents to pay to the appellant- petitioner the amount of Rs.2,20,00,000/- which was deposited by the petitioner in course of the auction. 2. In the compliance affidavit which figures on record, the following stand is noticed on part of the respondents extracting from paragraph 5, "...the Complainant is legally entitled to receive back his initial bid amount of Rs.2,20,00,000/- deposited on 25.06.2007 for which the State Government undertakes to refund the said amount, if reasonable time is granted by this Hon'ble Court. I state necessary steps have been taken by the state government to refund the aforesaid amount to the complainant and we are waiting for necessary approval from the Finance Department. Hence, some reasonable time is required to complete the aforesaid exercise to refund initial bid amount of Rs.2,20,00,000/- to the complainant." - 4 - NC: 2025:KHC:12840-DB CCC No. 949 of 2024 3. In course of the hearing today, learned Additional Government Advocate stated that Bill is also raised towards entitlement of the petitioner and the same is sent to the Treasury. She also stated that the amount will be credited to the account of the petitioner within one week. 4. It is directed that respondents shall ensure that the amount as approved for the petitioner to which the petitioner is entitled to, shall be credited to the savings account of the petitioner within two weeks. 5.
