The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Khunti P.S. Case No. 04 of 2022, corresponding to G.R. Case No.159 of 2022, for the offence under Sections 420/414/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 47(a) of Excise Act, pending in the court of Sri Arjun Saw, learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Khunti. On 07.01.2022 at about 8:00 p.m., Khunti police on the basis of confidential information intercepted a pickup van bearing registration No. JH01EH-8042 from a place near Hutar Chowk, Ranchi-Khunti Road. On search, huge quantities of foreign liquors were seized from the said vehicle. It was submitted that petitioner was neither arrested at the spot nor anything was recovered from his possession. It was further submitted that the name of the petitioner has come in the confession of co-accused. In view of the submission made above, I am inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, named above, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of Sri Arjun Saw, learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Khunti, in connection with Khunti P.S.
