This is a bail application U/S.483 of BNSS by the petitioner for grant of bail in connection with Kalimela PS Case No.154 of 2024 corresponding to CT Case No.86 of 2024 pending in the file of learned Sr. Civil Judge-cum- Assistant Sessions Judge (Women’s Court), Malkangiri for commission of offences punishable U/Ss.376(2)(l) of IPC on the main allegation of committing rape upon a mentally challenged victim. 3. Heard Mr. Soumya Kanta Tripathy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. P. Satpathy, learned Addl. PP in the matter and perused the record. 4. After having considered the rival submissions and taking into consideration the nature and gravity of the offences as alleged against the petitioner vis-à-vis the accusation sought to be brought against him and regard being had to the materials placed on record together with the statement of the victim and the trial having not yet commenced, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 5. Hence, the bail application of the petitioner stand rejected. Accordingly, the BLAPL stands disposed of. Issue urgent certified copy of the order as per Rules.
