The parents of Respondent No.2 gave dowry and other lanchanams to the petitioners herein. Due to disputes between the couple, wife and husband lived separately and she filed a complaint before the Police which is registered as a case in Crime No.100 of 2023 of Musunuru Police Station, Eluru District, against A.1 to A.7, for the offences punishable under Sections 489-A IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. After completion of investigation, Police filed charge sheet which is numbered as CC No.456 of 2023 on the file of the Court of Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Nuzvid. Petitioners herein are A.2 to A.7, who are mother in law, sisters-in-law and their husbands. Seeking quashment of the Proceedings against them in CC No. 456 of 2023, Petitioners herein filed the present criminal petition. 3 During the pendency of this Criminal Petition, parties made a request before this Court that they intend to compromise the matter and accordingly, directed the parties to appear before the Secretary, High Court Legal Services Committee, High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati for taking necessary steps. Parties are identified by their respective learned counsels on record. Copies of the Aadhar cards of the parties attested by their respective counsel are filed for proper identification. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor is in attendance. Respondent No.2 submitted before this Court that she has no issues with the Petitioners and there is no coercion and undue influence for settling the issue with the Petitioners and she acknowledged receipt of Rs.8,00,000/- paid by petitioner No.1 herein and the amount will be kept in fixed deposit in due course of time. Considering the submissions, in the interests of justice, this Criminal Petition is allowed and the Proceedings in CC No.456 of 2023 on the file of the Court of Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Nuzvid, against the Petitioners 1 to 7 / A.2 to A.7 are hereby quashed.
