The writ petition is filed by the petitioner praying for following reliefs: "i. to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents, specifically the Regional Higher Education Officer, Bareilly, to forthwith ensure the payment of gratuity amount in favour of the petitioner in lieu of the death of her husband, who expired in harness along with interest thereon. ii. to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to forthwith consider and pass appropriate orders upon the various representations of the petitioner, which have been preferred by her for payment of gratuity amount in lieu of death of her husband along with interest so that justice be done." On instructions, learned Standing Counsel has produced the order dated 25.4.2025 of the Finance Controller, Higher Education, Directorate of Higher Education, Prayagraj sanctioning the death- cum-gratuity. A copy of the order dated 25.4.2025 has been provided to learned counsel for the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in view of the order passed on 25.4.2025, at this stage, he is not pressing the writ petition.
