Petitioner has alleged that information was furnished to Parnasree Police Station in relation to an illegal construction however, the said police station did not take any steps. The decision to assess whether a construction is legal or illegal is vested with the Municipal Authorities and not with the police authorities. Petitioner would approach the appropriate municipal authorities bringing it to their notice regarding the illegal construction, if the municipal authorities are of the opinion that there is an illegal construction they would inform the police authorities who would assist them in taking their further action. With the aforesaid observations WPA 16490 of 2024 is disposed of.
