UHon’ble Ashish Naithani, J. Mr. Bharat Singh, Advocate, for the petitioners. Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Brief Holder for the State of Uttarakhand. 2. Let defect No. 1 be cured during the course of the day. Defects 2 & 3 are overruled. 3. Petitioners apprehend threat to their life on account of their marriage against the wish of parents and family members of petitioner No. 1, therefore, they have approached this Court, seeking a direction to the police authorities to provide protection to them. 4. As per the document brought on record, both the petitioners are major. The date of their marriage, as per certificate issued by Arya Samaj Vaidik Vivah Sanskar Trust, Ghaziabad is 17.02.2025. The marriage is duly registered with Marriage Registration Officer, Ghaziabad (U.P.), on the same day. 5. As per the High School certificate, date of birth of petitioner No. 1 is 25.03.2002. She is present in Court and has apprised us that she is pursuing B.Ed course from a College at Roorkee, District Haridwar. Petitioner No. 2, who is also present in Court, stated that he is serving as L.T. Grade Assistant Teacher 2025:UHC:1416-DB (Mathematics) in a Government School at Kotdwar, District Pauri Garhwal. 6. Since petitioners are major, they are already married, and their marriage is also duly registered, therefore, we dispose of this Writ Petition, by directing SHO, Police Station-Kotdwar, District Pauri Garhwal, to provide protection to petitioners for a period of six weeks to ensure that no harm is caused to them from private respondents or anyone acting at their behest during this period. Upon expiry of six weeks, SHO, concerned shall make fresh assessment of threat perception to petitioners, and adopt such measures, as are deemed necessary for the safety and security of petitioners. 7.
