The petitioner was appointed as a Bhumi Sahayak on compassionate ground in the year 1992. In connection with Kotwali Police Station case no. 119 of 2017 dated February 19, 2017 petitioner was arrested on February 23, 2017 and was released on bail in terms of an order dated May 8, 2023 passed in CRM(DB) 222 of 2023. Petitioner was placed under suspension with effect from February 23, 2017 by an order dated March 1, 2017. The petitioner alleges that in spite of several 2 representations being made, no decision has been taken by the respondent authorities to review and/or reconsider the order of suspension. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner prays that the respondent authority be directed to take a decision on the representations and to communicate the same to the petitioner within the time limit as may be fixed by this Court. Heard the learned AGP for the State. Without entering into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner in the representation dated September 3, 2024 this writ petition stands disposed of by directing the Additional District Magistrate District & Land Reforms Officer, Jalpaiguri, being the respondent no. 5 herein, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated September 3, 2024 and to dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner or his authorized representative and to communicate the reasoned order to the petitioner immediately thereafter. The entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible but positively 3 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a server copy of this order to together with a copy of the representation dated September 3, 2024.
