Heard Sri Sudheer Kumar Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents. 2. The present writ petition has been filed for following relief:- "1. A writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing to the respondent No.-2 (Commissioner Azamgarh Region Azamgarh, District Azamgarh) to decide the Appeal No.-285/A, Computer Case No.-C202415000001486, U/S-18 of Indian Arms Act 1959, Mohamad Danish versus District Magistrate filed by the petitioner, which is pending since 03.09.2024 before the respondent No.-2 and to issue a license of Revolver / Pistol as License No.-4340/92 to the name of the applicant for the protection of his life." 3. It is contended that gun licence of the petitioner has been cancelled by the District Magistrate concerned, against which he has filed an appeal under Section 18 of the Indian Arms Act, which is still pending since 3.9.2024. He prays for simple direction to respondent no.2 to decide the appeal, expeditiously. 4. In view of the aforesaid facts, the present writ petition stands disposed of with a direction upon respondent no.2 to decide the pending appeal of Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Sudheer Kumar Singh Counsel for Respondent(s) : C.S.C. Mohd.
