Heard the parties.
2. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Cyber Crime Case No. 31/2024 arising out of Cyber Crime Ranchi P.S. Case No. 114/2024, for the offences registered under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 & 120B of the I.P.C. and Sections 66(B), 66(C) & 66 (D) of the I.T. Act, pending in the Court of learned A.J.C.-II-cum-Special Judge, Cyber Crime, Ranchi.
3. It is alleged that informant had invested more than Rs. 80 lakhs with Viking Global Investors Marketing through its Viking Trading App. The accused persons had promised the informant that they will give him good return. Later on, the accused persons decamped away with the invested amount. It is further alleged that Rs. 41 lakhs has been transferred in the account of this petitioner.
4. It was submitted that the entire invested amount has been seized by the police.
5. Report regarding the stage of trial, earlier called for, has been received. It appears that out of seven charge-sheeted witnesses, only one witness has been examined and trial is likely to be concluded within nine months.
6. Considering the nature of allegation and the fact that trial is under progress, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail stands rejected at this stage.
