Mr. Ranajoy Chatterjee Mr. Tamal Singha Roy …for the petitioner 1. The petitioner has approached this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution seeking compensation for the delay in disposal of a criminal case which was kept pending from 2001 to 2020. 2. I am of the opinion that the writ court will not be the competent forum to adjudicate such dispute. 3. In view of the above, the writ petition stands dismissed. 4. However, dismissal of the writ petition will not preclude the petitioner from approaching the appropriate forum for relief in accordance with law, if so advised. 5. Affidavit of service be taken on record. 6. All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court. 7. Certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be made available to the parties. [Amrita Sinha, J] 2
