The Secretary, Rajasthan State Sports Council, Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur-(Raj.) ----Respondents For Petitioner(s) : Mr. Rajendra Vaish For Respondent(s) : Mr. Jai Raj Tantia HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SUDESH BANSAL Order 10/01/2025 1. Matter has come up on an application (1/2022) filed by and on behalf of respondents, stating inter alia, that the entire [2025:RJ-JP:1652] (2 of 2) [CW-19544/2018] selection process for recruitment of Sports Officer pursuant to advertisement dated 03.07.2018 has been cancelled by the respondents, hence, the instant writ petition has rendered infructuous. The copy of Press Communique dated 20.03.2020 cancelling the advertisement dated 03.07.2018 so also the order for cancellation of entire selection process, have been placed on record with the application. 2. Having perused the writ petition, it appears that petitioners preferred instant writ petition feeling aggrieved by advertising the vacancies of Sports Officer vide Notification dated 03.07.2018 and by initiation of process recruitment by the respondents for the vacant posts of Sports Officer, stating inter alia, that appointments/ selection of Sports Officers on the vacant posts would encroach upon the promotion avenues of petitioners for such posts. 3. This Court finds that since the respondents have cancelled the advertisement so also the entire selection process, therefore, the cause of action to file the instant writ petition has come to an end. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioners too is not in a position to dispute the aforesaid aspect of the matter and cannot dispute that, in view of cancellation of the advertisement in question and the selection process thereof by the respondents, the cause of action to continue the writ petition does not survive. 5. As a result, application (1/2022) is allowed. 6. The writ petition is hereby dismissed as having become infructuous. 7. All pending application(s), if any, stand disposed of.
