1. The fresh statement of facts has been produced by the learned counsel for the respondents. The same is taken on record.
2. As per the fresh statement of facts, it has been reported that the Assistant Collector (Revenue) (with powers of Assistant Collector), Jammu, has issued notice dated 19.04.2025 to the petitioner and the private respondents to appear in person or through counsel on the date of hearing, i.e., 06.05.2025.
3. It is submitted that subsequently another notice was issued to both parties directing them to furnish a detailed report, but on 05.08.2025, none appeared. Thereafter, another notice was issued to the parties, which was marked to the Tehsildar for execution.

The main grievance projected by the petitioners in this petition is that the appeal in respect of mutation pertaining to land in Khasra No. 885 situated at Top Sherkhanian, Tehsil and District Jammu, is not being decided by the Collector, though the matter had been remanded to the Collector in terms of order dated Sr. No. 25

20.11.2015 passed by the Regional Director, Survey and Land Records (ex officio Settlement Officer).

As per the status report, the remand case is presently being dealt with by the Assistant Collector (Revenue), Jammu, who is making efforts to serve notices upon the parties, but the same have not borne any fruit so far. The grievance projected by the petitioner in the present petition can be taken care if an appropriate direction is issued to the Assistant Collector (Revenue), Jammu, to decide the remand case within a specified period.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Assistant Collector (Revenue), Jammu (with powers of Assistant Collector), to decide the remand case pertaining to mutation order No. 1245 of Village Top Sherkhanian, Tehsil and District Jammu, in respect of land measuring 12 Kanals 10 Marlas in Khasra No. 885 of the said village, most expeditiously, preferably within a period of three months from the date a copy of this order is made available to the said authority. The petitioner shall appear before the aforesaid authority, alongwith a certified true copy of this order on
