Chaman vs State of H.P. Cr.MP(M) No. 2413 of 2025
09.10.2025 Present: Mr. Ravinder Singh Chandel, Advocate, for the petitoiner/applicant.
Cr.MP No. 4475 of 2025
The present application has been filed for extension of time granted by this Court on
03.10.2025. It has been submitted that mother of the petitioner has expired on 02.10.2025. As per the ritual and culture, younger son has to perform the last rituals (Kriya Karam). As per report of the Up- Pardhan Gram Panchayat, Malunda, the petitioner being younger son has to perform the last rites of his mother. Hence, it was prayed that the period of interim bail be extended by eight days.
Heard.
On 03.10.2025, the Court had ordered that petitioner be taken to his native place in custody for performing the last rites of his mother and he be brought back on 09.10.2025. The Court had granted sufficient time to perform last rites of his mother. The petitioner was well aware about the fact that limited time was granted to him to perform
the last rites of his mother and he was supposed to complete all the last rites of his mother within the time granted to him. No reason has been assigned why he could not perform last rites within time framed by the Court. Hence, time cannot be extended. Consequently, the present application fails and the same is dismissed.
